Louis Signy is known for his views and perspectives of Paris, the surrounding area and as far as Geneva and Ferney, where he drew the château of Monsieur Voltaire, of whom he claimed to be, in the caption to the engraving, a “very humble and obedient servant”.
The Musée de Pontoise holds a watercolor, a view of Pontoise, very similar to ours (Fig1).
Condition – Very good condition.
