Pretty much inspired by the works of Aert van der Neer (1603 – 1677), a painter of nocturnal and luminist scenes from the Dutch Golden period, this lovely view of a village by moonlight has however been painted at a later period.
Condition report – Good overall composition. The upper part of the sheet bears minor tearing but it does not affect the composition. Minor tearing in the inferior right corner.
