Very beautiful study with black chalk rehightened with white on blue paper of a landscape with a tree in the foreground on the left, and shepherds and their herds heading towards a plain below.

A small cartel glued to an old mount mentions the name of Zucarelli in reference to the Venetian painter and draughtsman, Francesco Zucarelli (Pitigliano, 1702-Florence, 1788). We prefer not to keep this attribution, the style removed and the way of representing the foliage of the trees does not correspond to his way to draw usually encountered in the graphic works of this artist.

Blue paper is reminiscent of the Venetian school but was also widely used in France during the 18th century.

Condition report: Laid down on an old mount. Beautiful condition.
