These two little drawings are the work of an artist from the late 18th<\/sup> or early 19th<\/sup> century travelling in America, such as the painter Jean-Baptiste Debret who gathered in his Voyage pittoresque et historique au Br\u00e9sil<\/em> (1834-1839) the numerous drawings and studies that he made during his more-than-fifteen-years sojourn in Brazil (from 1815 to 1831) and which give unique testimony on the daily life of the local population of the time.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
