With his pictorial technique of elegantly mixing ink and white gouache, Francesco Zuccarelli multiplied the studies of landscapes and figures. Numerous small horsemen similar to these two fill his paintings and are reminiscent of the figures depicted by his fellow artist, the Venetian battle scene painter, Francesco Simonini, whose compositions Zuccarelli also engraved.
Condition report – False margin. Very slight foxing. The sheet is in good condition overall.
