Pierre Larrieu, attributed to

Active between 1762 and 1774
Red chalk. Inscribed with the black chalk Larrieu and cont/donn with illegible numbering on the verso.
173 x 255 mm – 6 13/16 x 10 1/16 in.
Provenance : Alfred Normand collection, his stamp (Lugt 153c) lower right.
The attribution of this lovely drawing to the rare artist Pierre Larrieu was proposed by former owner of the drawing Mr Alfred Normand, probably by comparison to about fifteen drawings by his hand in the Louvre. Some of them present the same refined and subtle treatment of the vegetation and a common sense of architecture (see for instance INV 27562 and 27558).
Condition report – Good condition. A few slight creases in the center left and upper right. One brown stain on top center. Three pieces of tape on the verso.
